Sebastián Gil Muñoz (1984) lives and works in Valparaíso, Chile. He holds a degree in Art from the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Valparaíso, and since 2013, he has been a collaborator and manager of  Worm, an independent gallery located in Valparaíso.
His work varies from observation of daily life in the neighborhood where he lives, to physics phenomena and universal astronomy. The meeting point of these works is in the art work by itself made on a human scale. Since 2010, this concept has been developed by Gil in an honest, collaborative, practical, ethical and ingenious way of making art. For instance, his project called Proyecto Chilenos diseñando documents the work of some Chileans who try to solve issues with daily objects that arise due to misuse, deterioration, or factory faults. The artist is «rescuing a creative streak which is present in people when there is some kind of economic, material or ideological shortage. That’s where I think I can find a true response to identity, from the lack of something and the intuitive response that people give.»
