Mariana Najmanovich

Mariana Najmanovich (1983) is a Chilean-Argentine painter. She holds Masters in Artistic Creation at the University of Barcelona and Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Finis Terrae University. She obtained the distinction AICA Chile in 2011, from the International Association of Critics. She has exhibited her work in different galleries and museums, such as MAVI, M100 and MAC in Santiago de Chile; Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB), Museum of America in Madrid, Sobering Gallery in Paris and Tyler Art Gallery of New York State University (SUNY). In her work she uses photography as documents from which she   develops images that distort and manipulate scenes through different pictorial strategies. Her work reflects on the psychological distortion of  human beings in different contexts related to violence.
