Carlos Cociña (Concepción, Chile, 1950) is one of the most important poets of the 80s generation in Chile. Among his major published works are Aguas servidas (1981), Tres canciones (1992), Espacios de líquido en tierra (1999), Plagio del afecto (2010) and Al margen de la propia vida (2014). In 2014  he received the Santiago Municipal Literature Award in poetry, for Al margen de la propia vida.
