Adolfo Bimer was born in Santiago de Chile in 1985. Through paintings, sculptures and found objects, his practice is centered on material and metaphorical interiority of human body. His most recent work is based on a research on interactions between the traditional field of painting and the industrial one of construction. The artist combines his research with references from medical and biological archives Generally, his body of works questions the concepts of health and illness throughout the use of material interactions, movements, fluids, organs and textures of the body and he compare it with both new and eroded industrial construction materials. He is interested by medical technology image development such as x-rays, microscopy, scanners and anatomical drawing. Those images are for him an attempt to understand human body in a way we would not be able to see it otherwise.
