Ignacio Bahna



Ignacio Bahna studied at the University of Barcelona where he twice received  the Honorary Scholarship Award with academic distinction. He has developed much of his work in Europe, North America and South America. Some of his individual exhibitions are Ode al aire, Austro Gallery, United States; Fields in expansion, Aranapoveda Gallery, Spain; Exergonic Reactions, Artespacio Gallery, Chile. His recent show called Magma at Yam Gallery in Mexico was brought about with the support of an International Grant AMEXCID, given by the Mexican Government. His sculptures, installations and volumetric murals express tension and/or explosive movement. His expansive waves are built with native woods, charcoal, natural resin, volcanic stone, carbonized woods and LED lights. He currently lives and works between Santiago and his «observatory» in the south of the country.
