Hugo Marín (Santiago de Chile, 1930) is a Chilean sculptor and painter. From the outset, Hugo Marín’s work in plastic has been linked to his interest in meditation and the metaphysical world. Pre-Columbian and tibetan energies, alchemy, the cosmos, hidden meanings and sacred places are some of the recurring themes of his work.. He studied art at the School of Applied Arts. He received two grants, one in 1952 and the otherin 1953 by the French and the Italian governments respectively to pursue his education in Paris and Rome. He has had numerous solo exhibitions and his work is exhibited in museums and private collections in Chile as well as in other parts of the world.
