Norimichi Hirakawa



 

Norichimi Hirakawa (1982) is a Japanese artist. His work focuses on the design of audiovisual facilities that, through computer programs, process information in real time. His work has been exhibited internationally in art exhibitions and medial arts festivals. He has received numerous awards, among them the Prize of Excellence of the Festival of Medieval Arts of Japan (2004) and Prize of Distinction of the Area of ​​Interactive Art of Prix Ars Electronica (2008). He has worked as a specialist assistant for important Japanese artists such as Ryoji Ikeda, Seiko Mikami and Yoshihide Otomo. He is currently artistic director of the ARTSAT project (Art and Satellite Project) and participates in the Typingmonkeys group with artist Kumiko Noguchi.
