Christian Aspèe

Christian Aspèe was born in the decade of the flower revolution. He studied photography in Santiago de Chile. In the 90’s, he co-founded the Association of Short Filmmakers with the desire of making a movie. He made Pelea de Fondo with which he was part of the official selection of the festivals of Sao Paulo, Edinburgh, and Havana. In addition, he received the critics prize in Clermont-Ferrand, France. He got involved in the Television as Assistant Director for the Chilean National Television program Cine Video. And then,… his cell phone rang… It was Raul Ruiz. Aspèe worked with him as Assistant Director and Executive Producer in a series of documentaries Cofralandés, the  movie Días de Campo (2004), the TV series La Recta Provincia (2007), and Litoral (2008), the movie Nucingen Haus (2007), the unpublished film El passaporte Amarillo (2009), as well as the last film by Raúl Ruiz La Noche de Enfrente awarded in the Directors’ Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. He is currently the director of the documentary Tan Solo un día and the fictional series Helga & Flora.
